The Belkin WeMo Home Automation Switch + Motion Sensor Kit, along with the WeMo App, work together to let you use motion to turn almost anything in your home on or off. By having the WeMo Switch, WeMo Motion, and the WeMo App installed, you can create rules that turn the WeMo Switch on or off when motion is detected. Have a light go on when you enter a room, have a fan go off when you leave. A heater, a lamp, your stereo, you name it – if you can plug it in, you can control it with the WeMo Motion. You can even have it guard the door at night.
Using the free WeMo App, you tell the WeMo Switch and the WeMo Motion what to do when motion is sensed. Just place the included WeMo Motion wherever you like, connect it to the included WeMo Switch controlling a light, and that light goes on whenever you pass by. With the WeMo Motion, appliances wake up and perform their tasks when you get near them, and go to sleep when you leave. Just like they should! Once connected, the WeMo Motion will sense movement within a 10-foot range; sensitivity for the motion sensor can be adjusted when you are creating or editing a motion rule. WeMo is a modular system, so you can add additional WeMo Switches easily and at any time.
