Cell phone radiation
Cell phones have faced much controversy over the past few years as studies began to emerge that linked them to cancer, while other studies were published that denied any link. Whether there is a link or not, the city of San Francisco decided to take precautions anyway and they became the first city to require cell phone retailers to state the radiation-emission data for each phone. It is no surprise that cell phone radiation may have negative effects on people, but would you ever guess that it would effect bees? An experiment was conducted at Panjab University, located in Chandigarh, India to see the effect of cell phone radiation on bees. For three months, researchers placed a cell phone next to beehive and powered them on twice a day for 15 minutes at a time. The result was jaw dropping.
