Have a long day at the office or an extra grueling workout? How nice would it be to be able to relax and calm your nerves in your own personal steam bath? Our project is based on the Mr. Steam steam bath generator system available at Smarthome.com.
Note that this is a fairly advanced setup and you should be familiar with home plumbing, electricity and carefully examine your existing layout and plumbing before moving forward. To safely install a steam generator in your home you should have a fully-enclosed shower or sealed, weatherproof room with a drain. Please consult the Mr. Steam installation guide for more information.

Wireless INSTEON water sensor that can trigger a text message when it’s time to water your Christmas tree!
A dead Christmas tree means a major fire hazard in your home. Less important, but still incredibly annoying are pine needles. This project (being very similar to the Water Detector Project from the other day) will send you a text reminder when it’s time to water your tree. This means less sap in your hair from constantly checking your water levels, and fewer crushed presents under the tree.

The TriggerLinc is a wireless battery-operated INSTEON transmitter that while used mainly as a door/window alert, it also can send On and Off commands to linked devices using a pair of contacts that can be connected to any Normally Open or Normally Closed sensor. This allows you to turn any type of sensor into an INSTEON-compatible sensor. Here we will show you how to turn it into a water leak detector for use under sinks, next to toilets and the like. We will be attaching the TriggerLinc to a basic water sensor and linking it to a computer controller that can send text or email alerts such as HouseLinc, ISY, Indigo.
