The Blue Line PowerCost Monitor™ and Energy Meter II informs you in real time of exactly how much electricity your household is consuming. A wireless sensor clamps to your energy meter and transmits information to a portable, wireless receiver that displays your energy usage information on a large LCD screen. Various electricity rates can be programmed for extreme accuracy, including single (flat) rates, tiered rates, and time-based rates. The sensor measures the speed of the wheel and the display unit converts that information into current and cumulative dollars and cents and kilowatt hours. By monitoring your energy costs you can decide when to cut back on your energy use and save money; validated 3rd party research puts actual savings at 6% to 18%. The PowerCost Monitor uses smart technology that calculates your home’s electricity use and displays that information in a way that we can all understand, in dollars and cents.
Monitor
Appliance Tab: Designed to allow the user to easily interpret the cost of a specific energy user/appliance in the home or the impact of an action
Predictive feature: A quick press on the “total/est” toggle will provide the user, based on actual energy consumption from the last reset, with an estimate of the 30 Day energy consumption totals in $’s or kW’s
Sleep function: Addresses the risk of premature battery rundown. Should the monitor and the sensor lose connectivity, the monitor will go into sleep mode (pressing any button on the monitor will bring the monitor back to ready mode).
Expanded kH Factor Capability: The unit can now accommodate kH factors of 0.1 to 99 and thus insure compatibility with high load service homes in North America today. This unit will work with 14.4 type meters.
Packaging: Package size and material has been reduced by 33%, a small step forward to reduce the overall footprint and contribute to a more sustainable planet.
Sensor:
To prevent the accumulation of standing water, the seal has been changed to a softer rubber compound to ensure a more positive fit and seal between the harness and the sensor unit main body. A modification has been of the body of plastic, and silicone grease has been around the battery lid seal in final phase of manufacturing.

Bidirectional mounting allows for flexibility in installation
Low battery alert
Mounting hardware and battery included
This compact, subtle sensor communicates with your Z-Wave network when the main unit is separated from the smaller unit. Perfect for maintaining security or protecting valuables, the sensor can be installed in door frames, window frames, and along drawers and cabinets. When contact is broken, commands are automatically sent to up to six devices, turning on lights, setting off sirens, or any other application you have programmed to report the sensor’s state. All communications are done wirelessly over radio frequency (RF). Mount the sensor horizontally or vertically to best fit its environment. A hidden security tamper prevention trigger lets you know when the unit has been removed from the mounting plate or pried off the surface to which it was mounted. The sensor requires the use of a CR2 battery, included. With a brand-new battery, the sensor can operate for up to two years. When used with a gateway, the battery level is displayed so you’ll know exactly when the battery needs to be replaced. Read more
Using a motion-activated floodlight outside your home is a good idea to deter unwanted visitors, but this one takes that concept one step farther – it actually talks to them! Choose from among three pre-recorded messages: “You are tresspassing!”, “Warning! You are being videotaped by a security camera!”, or the sound of a dog barking. The passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor can be adjusted so it picks up people only from a speecific area, and the lights can be pointed to the same or a different spot. There are adjustments for the range of the PIR and the time the floodlight remains on. The video camera points the same direction as the PIR and will capture up to 500 video clips (20 sec) per GB of memory. Most surveillance cameras do nothing about deterring potential criminals, they only passively record whatever happens and you have to hope you got a good enough picture to help find the guy.
This camera shines the light of day on crooks and tells them they had better leave without committing any crime.
You can also set one of three operating modes: Out of town Light & sounds both come on every time the PIR is triggered Everyday Daytime light off, sounds on and Nighttime light on, speaker off Business Daytime light off, sounds off and Nighttime light on, sounds on Read more
Do you want increased protection from break-in’s but have a living situation that doesn’t allow you to change out your deadbolts?
If so then look no further than the Keypout Anti-Lock Bumping Device. The Keypout works by sliding over your existing door knob and deadbolt to securely keep the deadbolt locked and in place. This prevents the deadbolt lock from being bumped or picked leaving its user with the peace of mind that they are safe in their home. If you happen to live with roommates it is a great way to ensure you are afforded the privacy you deserve if there is more than one key for your room. For optimal protection it is best to place the Keypout over your deadbolt lock at an angle for a snug and tight fit. It fits with nearly all deadbolt door lock handlesets allowing its user to use it on a bedroom door, front door and even bring it with them if they move or are traveling. Because the Keypout is not big and bulky it stores away easy when not in use and is not a hassle to bring with you when traveling. For day to day storage the Keypout easily lifts off the deadbolt lock and rests around the door knob of whatever door it is used on. The Keypout is an ideal security product for, but not limited to, renters, college students, people living on their own, single parent homes, offices, senior citizens, babysitters and home owners that do not want to change their lock(s).
Hands-On Research I sampled this product for a week and to put it bluntly, the Keypout works as advertised. It doesn’t offer the glitz and glam of an electronic deadbolt door lock but then again it doesn’t cost you anywhere near as much as one either. It’s very simple to use, doesn’t involve any sort of wiring or setup and in my opinion does alleviate thoughts of break-in. Granted someone can still always kick down a door or smash a window but you can hear those. This will protect against the silent lock-pick break-in which is what I liked most about it. I used the Keypout on a handful of different make deadbolt door locks and it worked without issue on all of them. If looking at the face of the Keypout as if it were a clock I needed to use the slots at 3:00 o’clock and 9:00 o’clock for proper fit on all the locks. These kept the deadbolt snugly in place when trying to open the doors from the outside via a key. While I don’t know how to pick a lock I felt pretty confident that it would do the trick at preventing it. The Keypout seems like it’d be perfect for college students, people who live on their own and for senior citizens. I would absolutely recommend it though to anyone looking for an easy security solution. Jason T – Smarthome employee Read more
