This indoor motion sensor can be used to protect large, open areas where door/window sensors are impractical or unnecessary. This unit can also provide backup protection for door/window sensors. Detected motion in this protected area can sound chimes or turn on outside lights. An optional pet lens helps prevent false alarms from the sensor detecting your pets’ movement. The GE Security GEC 60-703-95 passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor provides superior battery life and improved motion detection in harsh environments. The 60-703-95 Crystal PIR can operate on a single AA lithium battery, but will accept an addition battery for extended operating life.
Infrared sensors detect movement within a specific area by sensing the infrared energy emitted from a body as it moves across the sensor’s field of view, causing a temperature change in the sensor’s zones. When this motion is detected, the sensor transmits an alarm signal to the control panel.
