Adding a wall-mounted flat screen Plasma or LCD HDTV to your home is an important investment, however there are additional accessories you will need to factor in to your decision making. To attach your new TV to a wall you will need a mount, and to connect your TV with your cable or satellite receiver and other A/V components (receiver/amplifier, DVD player, Blu-ray player, PS3, etc.) you will need the appropriate A/V cables. Two plates are included; place one directly behind your wall mounted TV and the other near your entertainment cabinet, entertainment center or equipment rack/closet. Each plate mounts flush to your wall with a recessed opening on one side that funnels A/V cables inside the wall so they can be connected between your TV and components with the cables out of sight. On the other side of the plate is an AC power connection; the major benefit of this kit is that you don’t have to work with your home’s live wires for power. Use the included single gang old work electrical boxes behind each of the wall plate’s AC power blocks, and connect the two with the included Romex wiring; once complete, you can use the included straight blade extension cord and plug the power into any nearby outlet or surge protector (recommended). This plate will work to provide a nice finish to any flat screen television installation, but it can also be used with a receiver/amplifier, computer and other devices that use power, A/V cables, data lines or phone lines.
