The combiner takes the CATV feed and modulated feed and combined them to a single RF coaxial output that can be run to the TV location of your choice. That cable can then be fed to the include IR receiver and then directly to your RF/Coaxial input. The IR receiver is the controlled with a the included remote control to switch between your CATV feed and your modulated feed. If you use a digital cable receiver, simply add a 2-way splitter, sold separately, after the IR receiver and send one signal to the ARF/Coaxial input on your TV and the other to the digital cable receiver; you won’t even need a filter.
